Local smoking cessation services

NHS smoking cessation information

NHS smoking cessation support pages offer advice, support, and related facts.

Smoking can have a big impact on your health, including how long you live.

  • Smokers under the age of 40 are five times more likely to have a heart attack than non-smokers
  • Smoking causes about 80% of deaths from lung cancer, about 80% of deaths from bronchitis and emphysema, and about 14% of deaths from heart disease.

Cheshire East Council orders One You Cheshire East service where you can choose to be non-smoking and change your life for the better!

The service supports:

  • pregnant women and their partners
  • mental health service users
  • people in the hospital and recently released.

In addition, free non-specialist smoking services are available in the community by a number of different organizations as part of the Council’s Bir Sen Cheshir East service.
