As part of our commitment to health promotion, all hospital buildings, areas and car parks are completely smoke-free.

This also includes the use of e-cigarettes / vaping devices.

Please help us to successfully implement this policy by refraining from smoking on our hospital websites.

We strongly recommend that all patients stop smoking before staying in the hospital, and this is especially important for patients in need of surgery. For non-smokers, the operation will be safer and the recovery time will be faster.

We know that quitting smoking can be scary in the early days, so help can be easily obtained. Please contact your hospital’s smoking cessation counselor for sincere, non-judgmental advice.

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is available to all patients to help with withdrawal symptoms. NRT is provided free of charge and will double your chances of long-term success by quitting smoking. If you think it will be useful for you during your stay in the hospital, please ask your nurse or doctor.

Quitting smoking is the most important step you can take to improve your health, and many patients have used their time in the hospital as an opportunity to quit smoking. In terms of health and safety, we cannot allow the use of e-cigarettes.
