Get help from a health coach

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do to improve your health.

A health trainer can give you some support to help you reduce or stop smoking.

They can help you:

  • Understand the benefits of quitting smoking
  • get ready to go out
  • Understand what prevents you from making changes
  • cope with difficult situations
  • stay motivated and confident
  • Get regular carbon monoxide tests
  • join the reduction program

A health coach can give you e-checks to stop smoking at the same price as the prescription, or it’s free if you don’t have to pay for prescriptions.

They can also give you tips on how e-cigarettes and vaping can help you quit smoking.

If you are over 18, live in Brighton and Hove, and want to quit smoking, fill out the online support form or call 01273 294 589.

Find an NHS smoking cessation service

If you are over 12 and want to quit smoking, you can ask your doctor to refer you to your local smoking cessation service. Find a local pharmacy that has a smoking cessation service.

You can register with the NHS Smokefree support service and make an appointment to see a consultant. You can choose to receive support from them via email, text or software.

Depending on how much you smoke, a counselor may give you something that will help you with your nicotine cravings. It can be:

  • patches
  • pastilles
  • chewing gum
  • micro tablets
  • inhalers
  • mouth spray
  • nasal spray
  • oral strips

Use e-cigarettes to stop smoking

E-cigarettes are very popular among people who want to quit smoking. They can reduce nicotine cravings and help you quit smoking completely.
